SESSION ABSTRACT


This district leadership team will share innovative strategies such as flipping your leadership meetings and clearly communicating your message in multiple formats to all stakeholders while gaining back much needed face to face time with those you serve. Learn how to put digital tools to work for you and help you get organized, plan, communicate, work more productively, and market your school/district.


PRESENTER INFORMATION


Heather Mullins is the Chief Academic Officer in Newton-Conover City Schools. She is a North Carolina Teaching Fellow who spent twelve years as a high school English Teacher. She is an NBCT in AYA ELA (2002) and holds an M.Ed. in Academically and Intellectually Gifted from UNC-Charlotte. She has served as a Curriculum Specialist in Hickory City Schools, an adjunct professor at Lenoir-Rhyne University, and a Professional Development Consultant for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Heather is pursuing an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership through Western Carolina University. Heather is one of the co-founders of #NCed Chat, and she is passionate about innovative practices, instructional technology, student ownership of learning, and supporting teachers and administrators.

Cindy Geddes serves as the Director of Accountability and Technology Services for Newton-Conover City Schools. Previously, she served for a year as the district's Instructional Technology/ Staff Development Coordinator and an elementary teacher for thirteen years. Mrs. Geddes was recently renewed as a National Board Certified teacher. She is a co-founder/moderator of #NCed chat. Mrs. Geddes recently co-authored an article, “Growing Technology Leaders,” that was featured in the magazine, Learning and Leading with Technology.
