SESSION ABSTRACT


Discover sources for copyright-friendly materials to support the curriculum. We’ll explore a variety of online sources, as well as techniques for locating materials efficiently. The free resources on WiseOwl will be covered, including the new eBooks (10,000 titles). We’ll discuss using online resources ethically and applying common sense to copyright issues as well.


PRESENTER INFORMATION


Dan Sparlin is a technology consultant for DPI, specializing in using online resources in the curriculum, and copyright issues for schools. Dan was a high school English teacher for 17 years, and served as a school librarian and/or technology facilitator for 6 years at the elementary level and 3 years at the middle school level. He also worked at the central offices in two LEAs before coming to DPI in 1999.
